Neuro-Linguistic Programming
As quoted from Wikipedia, the formal definition of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is: The study of the structure of subjective experience. NLP was developed in the early 1970's by Richard Bandler, Ph.D., an information scientist, and John Grinder, Ph.D., a linguist.
NLP is the gathering of information to create models, based on the internal experience and information processing system of the people being studied and modeled, including those aspects that are outside of their conscious awareness. The word ‘neuro’ refers to an understanding of the brain and its functioning. ‘Linguistic’ relates to the communication aspects (both verbal and non-verbal) of our information processing. ‘Programming’ is the behavioural and thinking patterns we all experience. There is a relationship between perceptions, thinking and behaviour that is neuro-linguistic in nature. This relationship is operating all the time, no matter what we are doing, and it can be studied by exploring our internal or subjective experience.
I have had tremendous success using NLP to help clients resolve issues such as eating disorders, unwanted habits, phobias, repeated unsuccessful choices, relationship troubles, anger, fear, and many other limiting emotions, while improving communication, enriching relationships and enhancing performance in all areas of life.
Emotional Freedom Technique
The theory behind Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is that if a blockage exists in the energy flow in the body, the result is a negative emotion that can lead to physical symptoms. “Tapping” on these meridians assists in removing the energy blockages. Although some event caused the energy disruption, rather than specifically searching out this event and addressing it directly, EFT simply addresses the energy disruption, re-balances the energy so the event itself is neutralized and the problem, habit or emotion just disappears. It is like Psychological Acupuncture because it uses the acupuncture meridians to deal with negative emotions. You focus on a 'problem' while tapping on particular points along these meridians and the problem eases until it disappears. It is really just this simple!
I have had huge success using this technique with my clients and with myself on many issues, such as childhood abuse, trauma, fears, anger, sadness, insecurity, worrying what other people think, irritability, high blood pressure, migraine headaches, panic attacks, stress, road rage, sleep disorders, phobias, memory problems, performance enhancement and many, many more. EFT can also be used in conjunction with Hypnosis and NLP, and can really help make these techniques more effective. I can do EFT with you on the phone or in person, and once you learn the technique, you can use EFT on yourself for continuing results.
Time-Line Therapy™
Throughout our history, humans have been aware of the passage of time. Even Aristotle mentions the "stream of time" in his writings. Everyone is capable of imagining their own "Time Line", a line of time where we store all of our memories. This linear representation is how we unconsciously know the difference between a memory from the past and an imagining of the future, or an experience of now.
Time Line Therapy™(TLT) uses this linear representation of time as the basis for a process which clears away negative emotions, limiting beliefs and un-useful decisions made in the past.
- Have you ever overreacted emotionally to a situation and wondered why?
- Has your negative emotion ever seemed out of proportion to the event that caused it?
Time Line Therapy™ traces memories back to their roots and clears away the negative emotional charge, along with any limiting decisions that have been built around the resulting negative belief.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotic Trance is a naturally occurring state we all experience every day, whether engrossed in a good book, watching TV, driving, daydreaming or when we are falling asleep or just waking up. Hypnosis is simply a focused state of attention combined with a state of relaxation. The difference between this naturally occurring state and one induced by a hypnotist is that the trance is directed and has a purpose.
In the relaxed state of hypnosis, it is much easier to access the Unconscious Mind, that place deep inside us where all memories are stored and all learning takes place, both useful and not so useful. By communicating directly with the Unconscious Mind you can easily and quickly change any limiting beliefs you have into positive and powerful beliefs, which in turn will play out in all areas of your life.
During a hypnotherapy session, you are gently guided into a tranquil state of relaxation. While in this relaxed state, your mind permits productive suggestions to be accepted and we can consciously input the new attitudes, habits and characteristics that you want to develop, while replacing the subconscious beliefs that no longer serve you. Please note that during a hypnotherapy session, your mind is fully aware and you will hear everything that goes on around you. You are also able to communicate and will only respond to suggestions that feel right for you and benefit your beliefs.
Hypnotherapy is an extremely effective healing technique that can be used for increased self confidence and self esteem, improved memory and concentration, motivation, quitting smoking and other addictions, weight control, fears/phobias, anxiety, depression, sleep habits, relaxation, migraine headaches and pain control, and so much more.
